Mission San Miguel Arcángel was founded on July 25, 1797 by the Franciscan order, on a site chosen specifically due to the large number of Salinan Indians that inhabited the area.

Each tile is individually hand painted and then fired in a kiln to 1800º F until the vivid jewel-like colors emerge.  They are frost proof and heat proof and can be used for indoor/outdoor architectural use or indoors as a wall hanging or a hot plate.  The size of each tile is 6”x 6” x 3/8” and comes unframed.
