Mission San Rafael Arcángel, the 21st mission, was founded on December 14, 1817 as a medical asistencia ("sub-mission") of the Mission San Francisco de Asís as a hospital to treat sick Indians.
Each tile is individually hand painted and then fired in a kiln to 1800º F until the vivid jewel-like colors emerge. They are frost proof and heat proof and can be used for indoor/outdoor architectural use or indoors as a wall hanging or a hot plate. The size of each tile is 6”x 6” x 3/8” and comes unframed.
